A few weeks ago, the three of us visited the Children's Museum of Manhattan. It was fabulous! We got some free passes at our library and went on a Wednesday morning (so it wouldn't be as crowded). Oscar had a ball.
The first floor was a special exhibit all about Greek Gods and Mythology, which has always been a fascination for me and Tim, especially now since we've been reading the Percy Jackson books. Anyway, they had a giant Trojan Horse that you could climb into and a flock of sheep maze (to escape the Cyclops) and all sorts of other neat things. Oscar got to arm wrestle a Greek kid and everything. It was cool.
As if that wasn't enough, we found out that the third floor is completely dedicated to the preschool-and-under crowd. Needless to say, the rest of our visit was spent playing there. I gotta say that it was completely incredible! There was a giant sandbox, a life-sized Lite Brite (my favorite by far), a fire truck and an MTA bus, a huge pretend supermarket with scanners and everything, and a big block pit.
We really enjoyed ourselves. We even ran into our buddies Ann and her twins Scarlett and Edie, which was so great. We stayed for the story time and then left around noon to feed Oz and let him CRASH. He totally wore himself out having so much fun. Here is a tiny video of one of the cool touchscreen exhibits at the museum... Enjoy!
