It's Christmas Craft Time!!!

I've been feeling industrious lately, so I figured I better put that energy to good use. Here is Oscar's very first HAND-made (haahaa...) ornament. This was a super easy and inexpensive project. And grandparents, if you play your cards right, one of these may be under your Christmas tree this year! All you need is some time, patience, and some
Model Magic.
Instructions? Get you a nice big wad of Model Magic and roll it up into a ball. (Squeeze it and knead it for a little while to get out any air bubbles.) Put it on a flat pan, like a cookie sheet or something, and roll out it out smooth with a rolling pin. Make sure you keep it pretty thick, like a third of an inch or something.

Then comes the tough part - wrangling your child's hand into an open palm to squish down into the Model Magic. This is no easy task if your little one is less than 3 months old. But never fear, if the hand print doesn't come out like you wanted it to, just reroll and start over until you can get it right. This stuff isn't sticky or messy, it feels almost like silly putty.
Once you've gotten your hand print, just poke two holes at the top with a straw and let the whole thing dry for 48 hours. Then tie a ribbon through it, maybe write your kid's name and the date on the back with a sharpie, and hang it on your tree! Viola!

Leave me a comment if you try this at home!
